The birth of a nephew

If you read my last blog post, you know that I’m an aunt again (more likely, a Tah-Tah or Tia, depending on which of my nieces he picks up the nickname from).  Little monkey was scheduled to be here via c-section today, but just couldn’t wait and decided to join us early… here are some photos from the night (morning) of his birth.  I’ll be blogging him lots.  Prepare yourself.  :)

(this next image really gets to me… little Miles gave us a scare with his breathing when he was first born. My mom and brother have always been able to communicate with only facial expressions, when necessary. This was hers…)

I can’t even… | NWA Children’s Photographer

Words?  Really pretty much unnecessary since there is no way they’d ever do this little man justice.  What a rockstar.

More to come on this very blog, Mom & Dad. :)

Just 6 short years ago (almost to the day), my best friend became a mother for the first time.  Since then, our lives have both changed so drastically that I am ashamed to admit it has been a ridiculously long amount of time since we’ve seen each other. In the past few years, both of her gorgeous girls have grown up (kind of… haha) and I can’t even believe they are so big.  I changed both their diapers… I took their first photos in the hospital.  And here they are… 4 & 6 now.  Can’t even believe it.

We spent the entire day shooting yesterday. First, in the studio where both girls took turns being the most fabulous rock stars you have ever come across…

Then, we shot a little outdoors in one of my fave urban spots. I’ll need to write a whole separate blog posts on that one, because we got tons of great shots of these two! Here are just a few of my faves.

(Her momma won’t like this next shot, I’m sure, because she isn’t smiling… but you guys know me. And you know I’m a SUCKA for a serious faced nugget like this…)

After the cones…

Finishing up editing from this session. I completely forgot about the tickle war that ensued after the ice cream…

…and that’s precisely the thing I needed to see after almost a solid 72 hours of being stuck in bed sick. My face is happy. :)

Sucka.

And THIS, my dear interwebs, is why I’m a sucker for a serious faced child.

Bestill, my maternal heart.

I won’t even attempt to bog down this post with actual words, there’s really no need for that when I can share these with you, instead.

I’d be willing to bet you $5 that if you weren’t smiling before you read this post, you are now.  :)

I’m still backing up files from the amazing session I had tonight with Miss A & Mister Z, but couldn’t resist posting this one…

Be on the lookout tomorrow for a blog to (attempt to) do these two gorgeous children justice.  I just couldn’t go to bed without blogging something from their session… it wouldn’t feel right.  :)

I’m plugging away in edit-land, but wanted to take a minute to share some of the snaps from last night’s session with the S Fam!

Sidenote – I have to say that I was pretty amazed with how well-executed their human pyramid was. I asked if they had practiced this before & the assured me that they hadn’t. I guess they’re just good communicators. If this were a workplace team building activity (or cheerleading competition), they would’ve definitely taken the prize.

Met up with all this gorgeousness yesterday AM for a session… in the breezeway.  It was a lovely morning, even though Omar kept insisting that he would win against me in an alley-way street battle.  I don’t know who he’s fooling with that, but everyone who was there knows the truth.  I got my eye on you, mister.

I’d like to point out that in that last photo, above, you can plainly see that Omar is fixated on his “victory” over me in a turf war. He obviously doesn’t find me nearly as amusing as everyone else did. Omar. Come on. You know as well as I do that I would win in a dance off OR a rap battle, regardless of the location of the event. Just give it up already & put your wife on top of an air conditioning unit for me, k?

**I would like to note that no Ashlee’s were harmed in the making of the above two photographs. Here’s evidence:

Kacieeeeee, look at the wind in your hair! It made like a perfect wind hair umbrella and still didn’t touch precious Julio’s face. Isn’t that amazing?

I think so.

The boys… (note that smile on the left. I had to work REAL hard for that one.)

And the gorgeous Roth sisters…

So very good to see you guys.  :)

Soooo… it’s 9:54 as I’m writing this and I still haven’t eaten dinner.  I’m crazy like that.  I just couldn’t wait any longer to post a sneak peek for my new BFF & her Mama!  Here are just a few I grabbed (without really even looking – these girls are just crazy fabulous like that, I can just close my eyes and pick)…

I had a ridiculously good time this evening, y’all! Amy, I hope you don’t mind that I taught Kendra what a “hot mess” is (first hand, actually) and how to do the cabbage patch. Sometimes you just need to learn those things. Tell her I said I’ll be practicing the routine every night until I have it perfected. :) I hope you love these – lots more to come soon!
