Seems like just yesterday…

I feel like it was just a blink ago that I was making a very similar blog post for this family and I could not be more excited about sharing the images I am about to share with you.  I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…

Ash, Omar & Pax – I cannot tell you how INSANELY excited I am for you all to be welcoming this baby girl into your family. I know she will be the perfect addition & I can’t wait to sew something for her! 🙂

Beau: Fresh Baby

I get a lot of questions about newborns & specifically, these Fresh Baby sessions.  What are they?  When do they happen?  But won’t I look terrible in the photos if I just had a baby?

Let me tell you this:  motherhood is beautiful.  YOU are beautiful and these first moments with your new baby – whether it’s your first or your fourth – are ones that you can never recreate.  These sessions are my favorite sessions to photograph and I’m going to show you why.

When you or I look at these photos, what we will see is a family welcoming its newest member.

What mom will see is her sweet little girl, so incredibly sleepy & in need of a nap, but so full of love for her baby brother that she can barely handle herself.  Her biggest boy, so curious about this new change coming into his world.  Her little man – who is now a big brother himself, so happy and unaware of just how much his little life has changed.  Her parents.  Her husband.  Herself – exhausted from labor, but so incredibly in love with every single one of these faces.

Beau:  Fresh Baby

Ahh.  Beau.  You’re the perfect caboose for this bunch.  🙂

Happy to announce…

After much anticipation (and what I’m sure have been two of the LONGEST days in history for this mom & dad-to-be), I am happy to share with you some of the images from my gender reveal session with two of my favorite people – Ashlee & Omar…

CONGRATULATIONS, guys!!!! I am so beyond excited for you (and really excited I was able to not spill the beans over the past few days!) I can’t wait to meet your little man. 🙂

Christmas Pajama Mini-Sessions

For months, I’ve been kicking this idea around in my head.  How to set up something fun, unique, and super cute for the holidays.  By this time of year, almost all of my “holiday” family sessions are already shot and/or booked.  Weekends are pretty  much gone (unless anyone is up for freezing with me outdoors at the end of December).  But…  I still have lots of kids I haven’t seen yet.  And that’s just no fun.

So, here they are.  Christmas Pajama Mini-Sessions!

These are going on now through early December with only ONE weekend set aside for them.  If you’re interested in booking, contact me ASAP to save your spot!   🙂

June Surprise Session!

It’s been way too long since I’ve done a Surprise Session…  so I’m gonna do it a little different this time.  That’s the fun part about being me, I get to make up the rules of this blog.  🙂

I’m going to host TWO surprise mini-sessions on this round…  and here’s how it’ll work:

  • Leave a comment on this blog post telling me why you want to win
  • You must be available one weekday evening NEXT week (June 27-July 1)
  • Winners will receive a 30-minute mini (your session fee will be waived)
  • Surprise mini’s will result in approximately 5-10 images (prints/products available for purchase, same as always)
  • Winners will be chosen sometime Monday morning, June 27th!

Who can enter?

  • Surprise mini-sessions are applicable only to 1-2 subjects (HS senior, child, couple, siblings, etc)
  • Does NOT apply to newborns

That’s it.  Seriously, that’s all you gotta do.  Just leave me a comment if you meet the above criteria!  Oh, and if you want to win.  🙂

In celebration of this awesomeness, I leave you with a super cute picture of Miles from when we were hanging out a few weeks ago, like we do.  Just because no post is really complete without a photo, you know… and because he’s cute.  Even when he’s sick.  And even when he’s army-crawling into a prism.  Word.

Gann | NWA Family Photographer

Last Saturday I met up with the Gann family and, well, let me just show you how fabby fab they are – mmkay?

And because I simply could NOT resist editing these two… a little outtake. 🙂

I had a blast, you guys – be on the lookout in your inbox VERY soon for a full gallery!!

My Mini-Weekend…

This past one was a whirlwind weekend for me, that’s for sure.   And because I apparently have fallen & hit my head, I’m actually caught up with editing to a point where I can even share images from ALL of my mini-sessions from this past weekend!   So… here they are.  🙂

Wasn’t that fun?

I vote we do it again… oh wait, we are…  April 23-24.  🙂

Well, how about that.

I can’t even decide where to begin talking about the outpouring of support that happened yesterday for Lacie & her family.  From her own circle of friends & relatives to perfect strangers – everyone who rallied around these amazing people – you guys are all awesome and I am SO happy to announce that we reached the $1,000 mark in donations for the Moores!!   🙂

As promised… a winner was chosen using’s generator.  And that winner is………..

Congrats, Ashlee!!  Can’t WAIT to see what type of session you have in mind!  🙂

DO NOT stop spreading the word about this movement, guys.  Remember, Kenadee’s journey has really just begun and there are countless other stories like Kenadee’s out there.  Do what you can, when you can, and most importantly – SPREAD THE WORD.  Tell your friends, family, neighbors, postal workers… whoever you can.

Also, don’t forget that when we reach that $2500 mark, Ashlee will win ALL of her digital files for free!  So y’all help her out, mkay?  Spread the good word… you’re all amazing.

Asking for your help…

You may remember this precious little family from my blog a few months back.

This is Dennis, Lacie, and Kenadee.  Aren’t they the sweetest?

In all truthfulness (and if you know me at all, you know I wouldn’t say this unless it were 100% true), Lacie is one of the most sincere, caring, and STRONGEST women I have ever met.  She juggles things that I didn’t even realize were possible – all the while, with a smile on her adorable face.  She’s nothing short of amazing, and so is her sweet husband.

I asked Lacie to type up a few words for me – discussing what it’s been like to be Kenadee’s mom & go on this journey.  Here’s what she said:

“Kenadee was born in 2009 with numerous disabilities. My pregnancy was perfect for nine months, Kenadee arrived, and then our world shattered when we heard the words “there is something wrong with Kenadee’s brain.” Since that day, we have went through lots of tests, lots of surgeries, and a million specialist appointments. One thing I have learned to focus on is what I can do in caring for Kenadee, instead of what cannot be changed. Focusing on the obstacles means giving up, and that is not an option. Some days, I feel like the only thing I’ve accomplished is not falling apart. But I know that great things are built on a foundation of small, often unseen influences. Even something as small as hope can change the world.

My hope is that someday Kenadee will bring hope by rising above her physical limitations and the expectations set forth by her specialists and others who might not understand the unique world of special needs children. While Kenadee may never communicate her story, one thing is for sure….. She will navigate the world differently than everyone else, and I am along for the ride. My dream is that she will inspire me and I know this is a dream that has already come true, in so many ways, every day.”

I told you, she’s a rock.

This brings me to the reason for my post.  Lacie’s family needs our support.  Their crazy life has been throwing obstacles at them left & right and you know what?  It’s just time we all pitched in & did a little something to help them out – even if they don’t want to ask for it.

Here’s where you come in…  below is a link to a fundraiser that Lacie’s aunt has set up on Facebook.  Pitch in.  Donate whatever you can – if you can – even the smallest donation is going toward one of THE best causes you could ever give to.  And you can also help by spreading the word about this to everyone you know.  Let’s get Kenadee’s story out there and do everything we can to relieve a little bit of the tension that she and her parents so gracefully cope with EVERY. single. day.

To sweeten the deal – when the fundraiser reaches $1000, I’ll give away a free photo session chosen at random (leave a comment on this post to be entered).  And if they reach $2500?  The winner also gets ALL of their digital images on disk – totally free.

Now, click this link and let’s do our part to support this gorgeous girl and her mom & dad.. here it is again, in case you missed it:

Just until…

So many sessions to blog.  So many more to edit.

So, until I can get back here to post the rest, please use this happiness to tide yourselves over.  🙂
