Rhys | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photography

These babies just keep on comin’!  :)

Little Rhys, a very much anticipated new guy in town, came today to play in the studio.  What a little lover he is already, at only 5 days old!

Michelle & Eric – can’t wait to show you the rest of Rhys’ gallery. I had a blast with you guys today, hope you love this sneak peek! :)

BooBoo

If you’ve been around this blog long enough, you have deduced by now that I am probably a little obsessed with my niece, Bailee. It’s ok. I’ve come to terms with it, and I’m pretty sure she digs it anyway, so there’s nothing to fix. This week, Bailee became a big sister. We’re all (as you know) very excited about that… but I have to tell you something I really didn’t expect.

I knew Bailee would be a great big sister. I knew that she would welcome Miles with open arms and would be very excited about him. That’s just the kind of kid she is. What I didn’t anticipate was that she would, well, LOVE him so much. You always expect a little nugget her age to have some sort of resentment, anger, jealousy, something. But there’s none. There’s just not. She loves her little brother in a way that I didn’t even think was possible… though, if anyone would pull off such sweetness, it would be our BooBoo. She’s just that way.

B, if you grow up & read this someday (probably next year at the rate you’re going), I want you to know that watching you over the past week has more than impressed me. You’ve baffled me, little girl. You are the world’s best big sister and your TahTah couldn’t be more proud of you. Here’s a big ol’ bunch of snapshots I took this week… they’re not portraits, like we usually do, these are just you, how you were. In these moments. I love you to the moon and back.

Jaxon | Centerton Arkansas Newborn Photography

I know I declared it Miles week on the blog… but come on, people.  Look at little Jaxon and tell me this wasn’t worth interrupting the celebration of my nephew.  :)

I’ve been anxiously awaiting this little guy’s arrival, too, and I was so proud of him today during our session!  He gave us lots of posing and a couple smiles.

Sweet little man. I can’t get over how much he looks like his big brother! :)

Miles | Centerton AR Newborn Photography

I still haven’t found time to edit and/or blog Miles’ coming home session… I will.  Trust me.  But first, I haven’t shared these photos with his mama yet, I wanted them to be a surprise.  :)

A little behind the scenes from today’s quick photo session… thanks Mom for snapping these. They melt my heart. :)

(Do you SEE this? Do you see what he’s doing to his Tah-Tah? Sigh…)

The birth of a nephew

If you read my last blog post, you know that I’m an aunt again (more likely, a Tah-Tah or Tia, depending on which of my nieces he picks up the nickname from).  Little monkey was scheduled to be here via c-section today, but just couldn’t wait and decided to join us early… here are some photos from the night (morning) of his birth.  I’ll be blogging him lots.  Prepare yourself.  :)

(this next image really gets to me… little Miles gave us a scare with his breathing when he was first born. My mom and brother have always been able to communicate with only facial expressions, when necessary. This was hers…)

Miles

Quick post to let everyone know I’ll be out of pocket the next few days, enjoying (and shooting the MESS out of) my first nephew…

Will be doing my very best to answer emails/texts/calls, but please forgive me if I don’t get right back to you. I’ve already been sucked in by his sweetness.

Yesterday | NWA Photography Mentoring Sessions

If you live in NWA, you probably woke up yesterday, walked outside and immediately thought ‘WOOOOOOO PIG SOOIE!’

Um, could the weather have been any more Fall-like for an August day? Methinks not. It was spectacular and could NOT have come on a better day. Because yesterday, my friends, was my first-ever mentoring session with another photographer. Yeah. That’s right. I said it. I mentored another photographer. And what a blast we had!

Jan of j.bloss Photography (I would link you, but her AMAZING website hasn’t been released yet… for now, you can email her at rbloss@embarqmail.com) came to town from Wellsville, KS for our session. We spent the day talking shop, learning, and shooting with one of my fave people, Ashlee (that’s my favorite part). Unfortunately, Jan couldn’t stick around for our 2nd model, but Sarah and I went out on our own and I got to play! Here are a few of my images from our time together yesterday, as well as some of the shots from my time with Sarah! Enjoy, peeps…

Oooh lookey, there’s JanJan!

Nothin’ wrong with standing in the middle of the road for a shoot-off, I say. We won’t discuss the fact that my precious JanJan almost got hit by a car immediately after this frame (twice). Ahem.

Sarah, my lens loves you.

Indeedely-doodely, I had an amazing day yesterday.  :)

  • J.Bloss Photography services NE Kansas and is available for travel.\
  • Please note, mentoring sessions are not available to photographers located within a 2-hour drive of NWA.  If you’re interested in booking a mentoring session, please contact me directly for details.
  • NWA Moms & Dads!  Be on the lookout for a local, hands-on, condensed version of a mentoring session… coming soon!  :)

I’m fairly certain…

That there are very few things in this world more adorable than watching an 18 month-old little nugget try (very hard, mind you) to button his own pants.

Zoey | NWA Children’s Photography

She’s 6… and she’s pretty amazing.

Zoe-bug, you are truly growing up. I am super-duper-duper proud of you for being such a smart little girl, can’t wait to see you again. :)

I can’t even… | NWA Children’s Photographer

Words?  Really pretty much unnecessary since there is no way they’d ever do this little man justice.  What a rockstar.

More to come on this very blog, Mom & Dad. :)
