Yesterday. Part One.

Early (like, as in 6:30 early) yesterday morning, my sweet niece woke up and snuggled with me… and any momma out there knows how wonderful it is to have a baby willingly snuggle with you. She buried her precious little head into my chest and sighed a big sigh. And then, just when my heart was almost completely full, she looked up at me & said, “Unca?” Talk about a letdown. Fortunately, her “Unca” was asleep on the sofa, so I got to keep the snuggler all to myself for awhile. :)

After we got dressed, we headed out for a few photos…

Afterward, we met up with Emily & Miss Quinn, who promptly took control of one of my cameras & worked it like a true professional…

Look at those two. Gives me the giggles.

A few of the adorableness that is Quinn…

Don’t you love the way the sun hits those adorable curls? My mom tagged along with us, too, and I think Quinn’s curls brought back memories for her of when I was a little girl… when she saw Quinn get out of the car, she gasped a little and said, “Melissa curls!” My mom is the bee’s knees, I want to dunk her in coffee. Kinda like I want to do to Quinn.

I call that last one her “give me the camera, Lady” face. She really is a girl after my own heart – happiest behind the lens.

Good heavens, she’s sweet.

There was lots of camera-swapping yesterday morning. In fact, when I proofed these, it was difficult to tell which shots were mine and which were Emily’s… but I was pretty certain that Emily took this shot. I know, because I’m actually IN it (I’m really good with that whole process of elimination thing).

Please forgive me for the stupid look on my face. And for my horse-mouth. Something’s not right there, but I am so glad that Emily caught this! I have so few photos of myself with the kids in our family because I am generally the one shooting them… I love this one. Horse-mouth & all. :)

I couldn’t end this post without showing off some of Quinn’s shots… I wonder if she has a future in photographing fabrics and textiles?

I knew this one was hers, too. Those little toes gave her away. :)

Thanks for coming to play with us, girls! I hope we can do it again sometime. :)

Be on the lookout for part 2 of yesterday… which requires a post all of its own.
